    • About the Center

    The Hot Air Balloon and Airship Application and Research Center was established on 01.12.2016 to conduct research in the field of hot air balloon and airship and to serve the civil aviation sector in related fields.

    The objectives and fields of activity of the center are:

    a) Conducting researches and studies about hot air balloon and airworthiness, maintenance of airships, and their production in Turkey.

    b) Conducting studies about slot distribution, usage, monitoring, collection of flight data and similar issues to meet the objective of increasing the flight safety of hot air balloons in the Cappadocia balloon flight area.

    c) Organizing vocational trainings and make exams for pilot and ground crews working on hot air balloon and airships.

    ç) Performing legislative studies on hot air balloons and airships and preparing training materials.

    d) Conducting other studies according to the objective of the center.

    Activity Areas of the Center

    In addition to its research and development activities, the Hot Air Balloon and Airship Application and Research Center serves the civil aviation industry with four different organizations, namely Slot Service Center, Approved Training Organization, Continuous Airworthiness Management Organization and F-Maintenance Organization.
